King of Bugs

What is this?
King of Bugs is a reading guide for Pikmin 2. It offers replacements for every piece of dialogue from the ship in the story mode of Pikmin 2. Instead of the ship speaking and giving the player tutorials, I wrote speaking parts for Olimar and Louie. This way, I can develop the relationship between Olimar and Louie and not have what I think is pointless and boring dialogue from the ship.

How do I read it?
There are detailed instructions in the pdf, but essentially you play Pikmin 2 with King of Bugs open and refer to specific parts of the zine whenever you come across a line of dialogue in game. You could also just read the dialogue without playing the game, but that's not recommended.

This is a Demo
This is just a demo. It's a big project that I don't really want to do without an audience that is interested in reading it. The demo only covers the first two days of the game (which have quite a bit of dialogue in them anyway). ROM Hack
My true vision for King of Bugs is for it to be a ROM hack, not just zine. Currently, it is sort of clunky to read it alongside playing Pikmin 2. I don't really know how to hack Pikmin 2 (or where to begin looking for help), but if a Pikmin 2 hacker sees this and wants to work with me on a hack version of this zine, please let me know! I would love to work with someone on a project like that.
